The Synopsys PrimeTime SIG is an active community for all PrimeTime users and design engineers who want to stay connected with the latest developments in the field of Static Timing Analysis (STA).

PrimeTime SIG at SNUG Silicon Valley 2013

A PrimeTime SIG event was held in Santa Clara, CA, during SNUG Silicon Valley 2013, Tuesday, March 26, 2013. The topic of this SIG was PrimeTime ADV – Advanced Timing Technology. PrimeTime R&D were on hand to interact with attendees.

Robert Hoogenstryd
Robert Hoogenstryd, Dir. of Marketing for Signoff tools at Synopsys kicked off the event and welcomed the audience. Robert described the market forces that have been shaping EDA tool needs, and the top challenges designers have been facing in the implementation flow. He also introduced the topics and speakers, and moderated the Q&A panel. At the end of the event, he hosted the pub quiz and made sure everyone went home with a smile.

Jacob Avidan
Jacob Avidan Vice President of Engineering for the PrimeTime team introduced the latest advanced timing technologies in PrimeTime, including new features that accelerate design closure for high-speed low-power designs, and variation analysis techniques for the most advanced technology nodes.

Jongho Kim
Jongho Kim, Engineer, Samsung Design Technology team, provided insight into the growing power challenges in Samsung designs. He shared PrimeTime ECO leakage recovery results with two high performance blocks, including a recent mobile CPU block. He showed how PrimeTime, combined with IC Compiler, recovered significant leakage power while preserving signoff timing among all scenarios.
