PrimeTime Special Interest Group (SIG) at India SNUG 2010   


The Synopsys PrimeTime SIG is an active community for all PrimeTime users and design engineers who want to stay connected with the latest developments in the field of Static Timing Analysis (STA).

PrimeTime SIG at India SNUG 2010
A PrimeTime SIG event was held in Bangalore, India during SNUG on Wednesday, June 23, 2010. One hundred and forty eight PrimeTime users and managers attended the event from more than thirty nine semiconductor companies. The theme of this SIG was Advanced OCV, with perspectives from a foundry, end-users and an EDA vendor.

Poonacha was the session chair for the India SIG 2010 event. He introduced the timing variation topic and the rest of the speakers of the evening.

Feroze Taraporevala
Sr. R&D Manager, Synopsys
Feroze provided insight into PrimeTime’s Advanced OCV solution and how it provides designers better margin control and is easy to deploy.

Wen-Hao Chen
Manager, Design Flow Development, TSMC
Wen-Hao talked about the latest trends in timing variation and its noticeable impact on silicon. He highlighted TSMC’s stage based OCV technology and its close collaboration with PrimeTime’s Advanced OCV.

Ajoy Mandal
Lead Engineer, Backplane EDA organization, TI
Ajoy talked about TI’s motivation to deploy Advanced OCV with compelling results to SPICE. He also compared and contrasted it with SSTA.

Ulhas Kotha
Technical Lead, Graphics Division, NVIDIA
Ulhas discussed the past, present and future of timing variation. He studied the impact of cell type, drive strength and process, voltage corners on timing and how AOCV can help model it better.
