Fund Overview
Synopsys Venture Fund invests in venture funded technology companies that are strategically aligned with Synopsys. The Venture Fund augments Synopsys' own internal research and development efforts by helping companies effectively bring to market new products that provide solutions for IC and system design challenges. The portfolio companies receive non-monetary value from Synopsys strategic investment, through concept validation, industry insight, connections to Synopsys tool flows and introductions to key customer contacts.

How it Works
Synopsys has invested in companies at all stages of development – from private company seed rounds to investments in public companies, but typically the strategic investment is most appropriate during the final product development and market introduction phase of the venture funded company. The Venture Fund is mananaged by a committee comprised of our CEO, COO, CFO and two Executive Vice Presidents. Recommendations are brought to the board by an executive sponsor that is the General Manager of the business unit that will be most closely aligned with the portfolio company.

Portfolio Company Management
The Synopsys corporate culture is based on the idea that good people should be given freedom to do great things. While Synopsys is available to offer assistance and advice to its partners, the company does not get involved in the day-to-day operations of its portfolio companies. However, each portfolio company will have a Synopsys executive contact that will provide access to valuable industry insight, connections to Synopsys business units, Synopsys design tool flows and appropriate customer contacts.
