Cloud native EDA tools & pre-optimized hardware platforms
Companies are racing to harness the power of generative AI (GenAI) to boost productivity and drive operational efficiency. GenAI has the potential to increase annual U.S. productivity by 1.5 percent, according to Goldman Sachs, delivering $7 trillion in economic value over the next decade. But how is it best deployed and activated in an enterprise setting, and what are the results?
Getting enterprise GenAI applications off the ground securely and at scale has proven challenging. As a result, 48 percent of more than 2.8K global business leaders surveyed by Deloitte in late 2023 said they don’t anticipate a business transformation from their GenAI initiatives for up to three years. Synopsys has always been on the cutting edge of technology innovation and enablement. We were the first to introduce AI-driven EDA tools for our customers, and we’re at the forefront of enterprise GenAI. In fact, during the course of 2024, our GenAI Center of Excellence developed and deployed custom GenAI apps designed to improve operational efficiency while safeguarding the company’s proprietary information and best practices.
We are pleased to report the early success of these internal pilot projects. In addition to boosting cross-functional productivity and giving our corporate teams more time for high-value, customer-focused activities, more than 1.5 million lines of software code have been developed using AI assistance. And based on data analyses and projections, we expect our internal GenAI applications to yield 250,000 hours of employee capacity in 2025. Because we’re in the early stages of deployment and utilization, we’re just scratching the surface of what’s possible.
Teams across Synopsys — including sales, people, marketing, investor relations, and engineering — are now using custom GenAI applications that have been trained on our own proprietary data:
“The ingenuity of our Synopsys teams is truly boundless. Just as we pioneered GenAI to address one of the most complex engineering challenges – the design process for semiconductors – we have invested in our own innovation engine to accelerate internal productivity, creativity, and operational efficiency.”"

Our software development activities have particularly benefited from the use of GenAI applications.
These teams are leveraging GenAI apps to accelerate engineering and development workflows by utilizing natural-language user interfaces, always-on assistants, and self-service platforms and microservices securely trained on our own proprietary data. Early results observed include:
Synopsys' pioneering work in AI extends to the enterprise application of GenAI for improving our productivity and operational efficiency. Not only can AI-driven Synopsys tools deliver substantial quality, turnaround time, and cost efficiency benefits for our customers, early results of our enterprise GenAI pilot are driving significant benefits for our teams. We have an exciting development roadmap of additional internal GenAI apps underway and when it comes to results, we believe we are just scratching the surface of what’s possible.
