Design Compiler NXT is a new addition to the Design Compiler family of synthesis products. It addresses customer demand for greater throughput and improved power, performance, and area, as well as correlation to physical implementation tools. It is enabled for mainstream and advanced process nodes, including 5 nanometers and below.

The new offering incorporates high-efficiency engines, yielding half the run times for compile and optimization operations. In addition, Design Compiler NXT adds distributed synthesis capabilities to further boost turnaround time. The new approach enables each distributed machine to optimize the design with full physical and timing context. This yields faster synthesis run times without sacrificing quality of results.
Smart delay optimization techniques deliver improved results faster than ever before. New power-driven mapping and structuring techniques, along with the addition of concurrent clock and data optimization, deliver superior quality of results from the new product.

Redesigned to meet the modeling needs of advanced process nodes, improved interconnect modeling, net topology, and local density analysis engines deliver tight correlation to IC Compiler 2.

The Design Compiler NXT user experience is significantly improved through new support for common physical libraries with IC Compiler 2. The new offering is plug-and-play, user interface and script compatible with existing Design Compiler Graphical. This enables a seamless transition for users.
